Stalin Inaugurates 45-Acre Semmozhi Poonga in Coimbatore

  • The first phase transforms 45 acres of the former Central Prison grounds in Gandhipuram at an estimated cost of ₹208.5 crore.
  • The botanical campus offers 23 themed gardens, over two kilometres of walkways and QR-based plant information covering more than 2,000 species.
  • Public amenities include a 500-seat amphitheatre, co-working spaces, an all-access gym, children’s zones, a terrarium and barrier-free pathways.
  • During the visit, Stalin handed keys for an 86-home accessible housing project funded with ₹5.67 crore CSR support from G. D. Naidu Charities.
  • Later on the schedule, the Chief Minister was set to attend a ‘TN Rising’ industry event where companies were expected to sign MoUs.
