Overview

• Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin informed Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan he will not attend due to personal commitments and will depute ministers P. K. Sekarbabu and Palanivel Thiaga Rajan.
• The Global Ayyappa Sangamam, organised by the Travancore Devaswom Board with state support, is scheduled for September 20 at Pampa as part of the TDB’s platinum jubilee.
• Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said the event will go ahead and noted most cases against Sabarimala protesters have already been withdrawn, except those involving violence.
• Kerala BJP president Rajeev Chandrasekhar demanded apologies from Stalin and Vijayan and withdrawal of remaining cases, warning the party would resist their participation.
• The VHP alleged political motives and said it will pursue legal action, while Congress leader V. D. Satheesan accused the Left government of majority appeasement.
