Staggered Metrobús Closures Begin With Line 1 Disruptions and Metro Zócalo Shutdown

Crews are upgrading station structures, glass, and electrical and lighting systems, work that requires short shutdowns for safety.

Overview

  • As of November 25, Metrobús reports no service at Line 1 stations Río Churubusco, Nuevo León, Revolución and Deportivo 18 de Marzo, and at Line 2 station Iztacalco.
  • Metrobús is executing a station-by-station maintenance program from November 24 to December 5 affecting Lines 1, 2 and 5 with partial, staggered and some nightly closures.
  • Line 5 will see directional closures on dates set by station through December 5, including 5 de Mayo, El Coyol, San Juan de Aragón, Talismán, Oriente 101 and Río Consulado.
  • The Metro’s Zócalo/Tenochtitlan station on Line 2 is closed until further notice for the 25N march, with alternatives including Pino Suárez, Allende, Bellas Artes, Isabel la Católica and Salto del Agua.
  • Authorities urge riders to allow extra travel time, review official updates and consider alternate services such as Metro, Trolebús and RTP during the maintenance window.
