Overview
- Multiple short- and medium-term closures began on Monday with the A40 closed toward Essen between Kreuz Dortmund-West and Dortmund-Lütgendortmund and the A45→A1 ramp at Westhofener Kreuz shut for lane widening.
- The Autobahn GmbH has scheduled a full closure of Leverkusen‑West from 22 October to 2 November with several ramp blocks and detailed diversion routes through the A3 and local links.
- In Saxony, the A13 Thiendorf on‑ramp to Berlin is closed until 6 November and the A4 and A17 face night and intermittent lane restrictions through early November and into December for serial maintenance.
- The planned opening of the new A70 bridge near Hallstadt was pushed from 6 November to 16 November because weather‑dependent finishing work remains unfinished.
- Operators have published route‑specific detours and kept emergency access through work zones, and they say the current resurfacing and ramp upgrades are preparing the A40 to carry redirected traffic during the eight‑month A45 bridge rebuild starting 28 April 2027.
