Overview

  • Day one saw widespread disruption: Aeropuertos Argentina reported 47 cancellations and 34 reprogrammed flights, Aerolíneas Argentinas counted more than 10,500 affected passengers, and Flybondi said over 7,000 customers were impacted.
  • Aerolíneas Argentinas formally complained that ATEPSA blocked nine authorized departures outside the strike windows, including two international services, affecting more than 800 people.
  • The action targets departures only, pausing takeoff clearances and flight-plan processing during set windows, while arrivals and emergency, medical, humanitarian, state, and search-and-rescue flights are exempt.
  • The schedule resumes on Aug. 24, 26, 28 and 30 in defined three-hour blocks, after authorities said 17 negotiation hearings ended without agreement and a court rejected the union’s challenge to ANAC rules.
  • ANAC conducted nationwide oversight and reiterated that at least 45% of scheduled departures per hour must operate, while airlines offered rebooking options and published updates for upcoming strike periods.
