Stagecoach and Metroline Drivers to Strike for Three Days Across Greater Manchester

Unite is seeking improved, backdated pay offers after First drivers accepted a 20% deal.

Overview

  • Around 1,900 drivers will walk out on Friday, Saturday and next Monday as the pay dispute continues.
  • About 190 services, including some school routes, will be cancelled during the action.
  • No buses will run in Tameside, Trafford and Stockport on strike days, with further disruption in south Manchester, the city centre and on some longer Rochdale routes.
  • Most services in Bolton, Bury, Salford and Wigan are expected to operate as normal.
  • Unite has warned of additional strikes on October 18, 23 and 24 if talks do not progress, while TfGM urges continued negotiations and advises passengers to check Bee Network updates.
