Overview

  • Officers stopped the silver Mercedes on June 13 at M6 junction 12 and issued a PG9 notice requiring a full MOT after finding multiple defects.
  • When owner Douglas Turner returned the following morning to arrange towing, the car had vanished from the roadside clamp.
  • Turner reports that valuable paintings stored in the boot were taken with the vehicle and are now unsellable.
  • The Staffordshire Police Road Crime Team has identified a suspect and continues to investigate the June 14 theft.
  • Turner purchased the estate car a decade ago with under 100,000 miles on the clock and has since driven it 753,186 miles to art auctions across the UK.
