Stadtsparkasse München Opens Freiham Branch, Consolidates Aubing Sites

The relocation reflects a strategy to center full-service banking in a growing quarter served by strong transit and retail.

Overview

  • The new branch at Amalie-Nacken-Straße 6 near the Freiham S‑Bahn opened Wednesday as a full-service location.
  • It spans 550 square meters with ten consultation rooms, 16 workplaces and a façade ATM accessible around the clock.
  • About 20 employees from the former Altostraße 11 and Limesstraße 97 teams now staff the site, with opening hours Mon, Tue, Wed and Fri 9–12 and 13–16, Thursdays until 18, and weekday appointments available from 8 to 20.
  • Both Aubing properties are being converted to housing while retaining ground-floor self-service zones with ATMs and transfer printers.
  • Stadtsparkasse plans roughly €8 million for an Altostraße new build with 11 apartments and a Limesstraße conversion with 3, with demolition slated for early 2026 and completion targeted for late 2027 after consultations with heritage authorities.
