• Officers were called around 12:45 a.m. to Maryland Avenue and Clarence Street on the Greater East Side near Lake Phalen.
• Medics began life-saving measures and took the man to Regions Hospital, where he died.
• The driver was headed west on Maryland Avenue, told police he did not see the pedestrian, and has not been arrested.
• This is the second serious pedestrian crash on the corridor in two days.
• In a separate Friday case on Maryland Avenue East in Maplewood, a neighbor’s video helped police track a conversion van and arrest a 46-year-old in Sleepy Eye on suspicion of DUI, with the suspect held at Ramsey County Jail.
