Overview
- Flames were reported at around 5:24 p.m. on Sunday at St Martins School near Oswestry.
- Oswestry crews were first on scene and escalated the incident to stage two, deploying eight pumps and an aerial ladder platform.
- North Wales Fire and Rescue Service provided additional appliances and maintained standby cover at Oswestry Fire Station.
- Firefighters used hose reel jets, breathing apparatus, thermal imaging and positive-pressure ventilation from inside the building and nearby rooftops.
- Crews remained through the night to ensure full extinguishment as parents were told to monitor emails for online learning updates.
