St. Lucie Sheriff Ramps Up Patrols After Nudity Arrests Outside Designated Beach

Deputies say Blind Creek renovations do not authorize nudity beyond the posted zone.

Overview

  • Six people were arrested or issued Notices to Appear on Oct. 25 at the Little Mud Boat Ramp, roughly 1.0–1.1 miles north of Blind Creek Beach’s nude-optional area.
  • Those cited were identified as Daniel Harrisson, Donald L. Knapp, Gaetane Lambert, Steven Marhenke, Elmer Quandt, and Nickolas Ramos, according to the sheriff’s office.
  • Charges include Indecent Exposure/Exposure of Sexual Organs, a misdemeanor in Florida that can carry up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
  • Since early September, deputies have increased foot and ATV patrols, reinforced posted boundaries, and warned they will continue enforcement during the renovation period.
  • Officials also flagged illegal parking along A1A as a safety risk and urged visitors to stay within marked areas, cover up before entering public spaces, and report violations.
