Erik Reynolds II, Lynn Greer III, and Xzayvier Brown led the Hawks with 24, 15, and 16 points respectively, contributing to the team's 29 of 51 shots and 14 of 27 3-pointers.
The victory advances St. Joe's to the first-ever Big 5 Classic championship game where they will play against Temple.
Villanova, which had recently re-entered the Top 25 following its title in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, struggled with 22 of 56 shots and 17 turnovers.
The win is particularly significant for St. Joe's coach Billy Lange, who was previously an assistant on Villanova's staff.
