- The SSI November benefit will be paid Friday, Oct. 31, no SSI deposit will occur in November, and the next one posts Dec. 1, affecting roughly 7.4 million recipients.
- Social Security retirement, survivor and disability checks follow the standard November dates: Nov. 3 for dual or pre–May 1997 recipients, then Nov. 12, 19 and 26 based on birthdays.
- The Social Security Administration says benefit disbursements continue on schedule during the federal shutdown.
- A 2.8% COLA takes effect in January 2026, lifting the federal SSI maximum to $994 for individuals and $1,491 for couples from 2025’s $967 and $1,450.
- Most beneficiaries now receive payments electronically under a Sept. 30 order ending routine paper checks, with fewer than 1% previously using mailed checks.
