Overview
- SSI will pay on Thursday, Oct. 31, because Nov. 1 falls on a weekend, and the SSA advises allowing three business days for deposits before reporting delays.
- Other November benefits are scheduled for Nov. 3 for longtime beneficiaries and concurrent SSI recipients, then Nov. 12, 19 and 26 based on birthdates 1–10, 11–20 and 21–31.
- For 2025, the maximum SSI payment is $967 for an individual and $1,450 for a couple; the 2026 COLA of 2.8% lifts those caps to $994 and $1,491 starting in January.
- Following a Sept. 30 executive order, federal benefit payments are being delivered electronically, with fewer than 1% still receiving paper checks.
- Analysts warn the program’s trust funds could be unable to cover full benefits by around 2034 without congressional action, highlighting ongoing long-term solvency pressures.
