SSC Schedules CGL Tier-1 Re-Exam for Oct. 14, Answer Key on Oct. 15

The Commission opted for a targeted retest to address the Mumbai disruption, preserving exam integrity.

Overview

  • Only candidates affected by the September 26 fire at a Mumbai centre will reappear, with Tier-1 otherwise completed across 126 cities.
  • The tentative answer key will be published on October 15 with an online objection window at a non-refundable fee of ₹100 per question.
  • About 28 lakh applied and roughly 13.5 lakh appeared for Tier-1, held over 15 days in 45 shifts across 255 centres.
  • SSC reviewed more than 18,000 feedback submissions, cross-checked claims with digital footprints, and rescheduled verified disruption cases, including approved date-change requests.
  • Laptop-based testing was piloted and Aadhaar, including face authentication, was deployed; malpractice such as fake PwBD documents and remote access attempts is under probe, with clear cases to be debarred and others allowed to sit the re-exam.
