SSC Lists Sept. 5 CDMX Protest Routes, Including 9 A.M. March To Zócalo

Mexico City posted its Sept. 5 mobilization bulletin to help commuters plan.

Overview

  • Authorities scheduled a 9:00 a.m. march by Artesanos Mazahuas from the Glorieta de la Joven Amajac to the Zócalo.
  • Cuauhtémoc will host several gatherings, including La Comuna 4:20 at Congress at 10:00 a.m. and later at two parks, the Comunidad Indígena Otomí at the city prosecutor’s office at 11:00 a.m., Brigada Callejera at the Government Building at 1:00 p.m., Grupo Pro Palestina at the SRE and the Museum of Memory and Tolerance at 3:00 p.m., and Colectivo Nacional No Más Presos Inocentes during the day at the penal courts.
  • Coyoacán will see the Okupache collective at UNAM’s Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at 1:00 p.m., Tlalpan will have Colectivo Cubo at ENP 5 at 1:00 p.m., Álvaro Obregón will have residents of Pilares Águilas at 5:00 p.m., and Xochimilco will have supporters of the Dolores Olmedo Museum at 5:00 p.m. at Tren Ligero stations.
  • The SSC advisory notes concentrations and marches on principal avenues and urges travelers to take alternate routes where possible.
  • Commuters are encouraged to monitor SSC, C5 and OVIAL channels for real-time updates throughout the day and to consider public transport.
