SSA Restores Standard July SSI Payments and Releases Disbursement Calendar Through December

The SSA’s plan marks a return to normal payment timing with advance disbursements scheduled for months affected by weekend and holiday timing.

Overview

  • Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive their July payment on Tuesday, July 1, marking a return to a single monthly disbursement after dual payments in May and June.
  • Social Security retirement benefits for July are set for July 9, July 16 and July 23 based on birth dates falling between the 1–10, 11–20 and 21–31 day ranges.
  • The agency’s published SSI calendar through December 2025 includes dual payments on August 1 and 29, October 1 and 31, and December 1 and 31, eliminating separate disbursements in September, November and January 2026.
  • Advance payments were scheduled to prevent disbursements from landing on weekends or holidays following earlier calendar-induced shifts.
  • About 7.4 million low-income Americans rely on SSI, which averaged $718.30 in May, and beneficiaries should allow up to three business days before reporting missing payments.
