The case follows complaints of the abduction and assault of four forest employees during a night patrol.

Overview

  • Srisailam police registered a case on August 21 naming MLA Budda Rajasekhar Reddy and aide Ashok Routh for the alleged attack and illegal confinement at the Shikharam check-post on August 19.
  • Complainants say the MLA drove a department vehicle while the staff were beaten during a late-night drive between Srisailam and Sunnipenta before confinement in a guesthouse and release hours later.
  • The four alleged victims are Deputy Forest Officer Ram Naik, beat officers Guruvaiah and Mohan Kumar, and driver Karimullah.
