Overview
- Rodrigo began the visit with a wreath-laying at New Delhi’s National War Memorial followed by a formal Guard of Honour.
- He held talks with Vice Chief of Army Staff NS Raja Subramani, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi and Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh on regional security and capability building.
- Indian military briefings included an operational overview of Operation Sindoor and discussions on counterterrorism and maritime threats.
- Building on April’s defence cooperation pact, around 700 Sri Lankan officers and jawans are currently training at Indian Defence Ministry institutes.
- The trip culminates on June 14 at the Indian Military Academy’s Passing Out Parade in Dehradun, where he will serve as Reviewing Officer.
