Overview
- Lieutenant General BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo became the first IMA alumnus to return as Reviewing Officer at the 156th Passing Out Parade on June 14.
- A total of 451 cadets were commissioned, including 32 from nine friendly foreign countries and two from Sri Lanka, bringing Sri Lankan IMA graduates to 296.
- Approximately 700 Sri Lankan personnel are now training across Indian military institutions, making the Sri Lankan Army the largest foreign contingent.
- Rodrigo held strategic discussions with Indian Army leadership, including General Upendra Dwivedi, Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani and Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, to deepen professional cooperation.
- The visit reaffirmed commitment to joint counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism efforts through initiatives such as the Mitra Shakti exercise.
