Squirrel Photo Wins 2024 Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards

Milko Marchetti's amusing image of a squirrel in an awkward pose topped a record-breaking 9,000 entries in the competition's 10th year.

Italian photographer Milko Marchetti won the top prize for his photo 'Stuck Squirrel,' showing a red squirrel seemingly stuck in a tree trunk.
The competition received over 9,000 entries from nearly 100 countries, the highest number in its history since starting in 2015.
Category winners included a frog in a bubble, a fish chasing a bald eagle, and a mantis appearing to dance flamenco.
The awards aim to highlight the humor in wildlife while promoting conservation awareness, with proceeds supporting the Whitley Fund for Nature.
The winning and shortlisted photos are being exhibited at the Gallery@Oxo in London from December 11 to December 15.
