Square Enix Will Close Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis on October 6, 2026

The company said sustainability concerns prompted the shutdown.

  • Square Enix posted an end-of-service notice on July 7, 2026 and set the formal shutdown for October 6, 2026 at 11:00 p.m. PDT.
  • Paid Red Crystal sales stopped immediately on July 7, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. PDT and any purchased Red Crystals can be spent in-game until the October 6 shutdown.
  • The publisher will continue to release events and story content through the closure, including a global rollout of Before Crisis FFVII chapters scheduled between July and September 2026.
  • Refunds for unused paid Red Crystals will be offered only to users residing in Taiwan and will require account verification with instructions to be posted in-game and on the official site; players are asked not to delete or reinstall the app while refunds are processed.
  • Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis launched on mobile in September 2023 and on PC in December 2023, and Square Enix said account data will be deleted after end-of-service procedures are complete, leaving players to use remaining content and currency before access ends.
