Overview
- Square Enix has scheduled Final Fantasy VII Revelation as the third and final entry in the Remake trilogy with a simultaneous Spring 2027 release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC.
- Director Naoki Hamaguchi says Revelation’s map was built to feel “truly substantial” and will allow early Highwind airship travel so players can choose the order in which they visit regions.
- Iconic locations that were omitted from Rebirth for pacing reasons, including Rocket Town and Wutai, will appear prominently in Revelation to add narrative depth and gameplay density.
- The team plans to integrate characters and systems from earlier FFVII spin‑offs, and Hamaguchi indicated some fan‑favorite compilation figures could turn up in the final game.
- Hamaguchi, who has played Revelation many times during development, said his next project will not be a remake and that he wants to pursue a new large‑scale RPG or smaller AA/AAA projects once the trilogy is complete.
