Square Enix Brings FF7 Remake Boosts to PS5 and PC, Touts Rebirth Success as Part 3 Advances

Square Enix underscores a wider, player-friendly rollout by patching in progression boosts with visual upgrades ahead of January’s Switch 2 and Xbox release.

Overview

  • Square Enix confirmed a future update will add Streamlined Progression toggles—HP full, MP full, Limit gauge full, and maximum damage—to PS5 and PC, with timing not yet announced.
  • The company said PC-specific enhanced lighting features will also be implemented on PS5.
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is slated to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox in January with the new boosts available at release.
  • Director Naoki Hamaguchi said FF7 Rebirth is performing very well on PS5 and PC and noted that a large portion of the third game is already playable.
  • No release date has been set for the trilogy’s final entry, which is expected after the current multiplatform rollout, and reporting indicates Rebirth is likely to reach Xbox and Switch 2 later.
