Square Enix has officially revealed the Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake, set to release later in 2025.
The remakes will utilize the HD-2D engine, combining pixel-art aesthetics with 3D environments, as seen in Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake.
Both games will be bundled in a single package and feature substantial visual upgrades and an orchestral soundtrack by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
The remakes will launch on Switch, PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, making the entire Erdrick Trilogy accessible on modern platforms.
While visual and audio enhancements are confirmed, the extent of gameplay updates to modernize these foundational JRPGs remains unclear.
