Wembanyama was ruled out of the game against the Dallas Mavericks, despite his desire to play and the ankle being retaped.
This is the second time in three games that Wembanyama has been inactive due to right ankle soreness.
Despite his injuries, Wembanyama has been performing well this season, averaging 18.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.0 blocks, 2.8 assists and 1.4 steals in 25 games.
Wembanyama's family traveled from France to celebrate Christmas in his new San Antonio home, marking their first Christmas in the United States.
