Sprout Organics Expands Recall of Sweet Potato, Apple & Spinach Baby Pouches Over Lead Concern

The FDA is monitoring the voluntary recall, advising consumers to verify lot codes for refunds.

Overview

  • Three additional lots were added to the recall, which now covers four 3.5‑oz pouches with codes 4212, 4213, 4282, and 4310 and best‑by dates Oct. 29, 2025; Oct. 30, 2025; Dec. 4, 2025; and Feb. 4, 2026.
  • The product was sold at Walgreens, independent retailers in 28 states, and online, and it was not sold in any other large retail chain besides Walgreens.
  • Sprout Organics initiated the action after routine sampling indicated possible elevated lead levels, and the FDA reports no illnesses to date.
  • Consumers should check the bottom strip on the back of the pouch for the lot code and best‑by date and return affected items for a full refund.
  • No other Sprout Organics products are affected, and customers can consult the FDA recall notice or contact Sprout at 510‑833‑6089 or [email protected] for questions.
