Sprinter Issam Asinga Receives Four-Year Ban for Doping Violation

Issam Asinga, a rising track star, has been banned for four years after testing positive for a banned substance.
The Athletics Integrity Unit rejected Asinga's claim that recovery gummies caused the positive test.
All of Asinga's competitive results since July 18, 2023, including his Under-20 world record, have been disqualified.
The banned substance, GW1516, was found to cause cancer in medical trials on rodents.
Asinga has the option to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sports.
