Springfield Police Seize AK-47, Arrest 11 in Multi-Day Drug Investigations

  • Detectives executing a Sycamore Street search warrant recovered an AK-47-style rifle loaded with 30 rounds, 607 bags of heroin/fentanyl, about 34 grams of crack cocaine, and $2,885.
  • Three suspects from the Sycamore Street address were arrested and charged with cocaine and fentanyl trafficking as well as a slate of firearm offenses, including unlicensed possession of an assault weapon.
  • A concurrent warrant on Worcester Street led to the seizure of 15 rounds of ammunition and $3,970, with six people identified at the location and later released.
  • Following weeks of investigation, FIU and the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department arrested seven people inside a High Street building and seized approximately 104.3 grams of crack cocaine, with cash and oxycodone recovered from one suspect.
  • In a separate incident, police arrested 46-year-old Angel Morris after a reported stabbing and seized about 377 grams of suspected cocaine from her vehicle, leading to trafficking and violent-crime charges.
