Springboks Reveal Special Jersey for Four‑Test All Blacks Tour

Nike and SA Rugby say the limited, performance-focused kit carries the national anthem in five languages as a symbol of unity and will be sold to the public.

Overview

  • Nike and SA Rugby publicly unveiled the specially commissioned Springboks jersey on Wednesday, Aug. 5, as part of build-up to the Rugby’s Greatest Rivalry tour.
  • The chest carries a subtle tone-on-tone graphic of Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrika printed in the shape of the South African flag with words in Xhosa, Zulu, Sotho, Afrikaans and English to emphasise national unity.
  • Nike says the shirt uses its FIT ADV system with lightweight construction and an engineered fit designed to meet modern rugby demands and support player speed and movement.
  • SA Rugby and Nike confirmed the jersey will be worn only in the four Test matches on the tour and will be sold through Nike retail channels, Springbok stores in Sandton, Menlyn Park and Canal Walk, and other retailers as a limited-edition item.
  • The release forms part of the wider tour programme that includes provincial fixtures and four Tests between South Africa and New Zealand and is intended to drive fan engagement and retail sales without changing team selection or match logistics.
