Overview

  • Starting in September, Premium Individual subscriptions in South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific will rise from €10.99 to €11.99 per month with email notifications sent to affected users.
  • U.S. subscribers will not see any change to their Premium pricing after hikes in 2023 and 2024.
  • The adjustment follows Q2 results that showed an €86 million loss linked to higher salary-related taxes and the addition of eight million Premium users, bringing the total to 276 million.
  • Spotify plans to use the additional revenue to fund expanded offerings such as podcasts, audiobooks and video content.
  • Investors welcomed the move with Spotify’s shares jumping roughly 7–8% on August 4 as expectations for improved margins grew.
