Spotify Testing Automated Offline Playlists for Unreliable Connections

Spotify is experimenting with a new playlist feature called "Your Offline Mix" that automatically downloads a mix of a user's recently played songs for offline listening when internet connectivity is limited.
The offline playlist can store several hours worth of tracks and is intended for situations where an internet connection is unreliable or unavailable.
Spotify is testing the new feature with select users, but has not specified if or when it may become available to all Spotify subscribers or on what platforms.
YouTube Music, a competitor to Spotify, already provides a similar feature called "Offline mixtape" that creates automated offline playlists.
The testing of the new offline playlist feature comes as Spotify recently laid off about 2% of its employees who worked on podcasting.
