• Premium subscribers in Germany and Austria are beginning to receive the Lossless option via push notification as part of a staged rollout that reaches 50+ regions in October.
• Users must enable Lossless in each app under Profile → Settings & Privacy → Media Quality, with separate choices for Wi‑Fi, mobile data, and downloads.
• The feature is included for Premium at no additional charge, while the new Basic plan is excluded and Germany recently saw higher Premium prices.
• Streams use FLAC at up to 24‑bit/44.1 kHz and are available on phones, desktops, and supported Spotify Connect devices.
• Selected hardware from Sony, Bose, Samsung, and Sennheiser already supports Lossless, Sonos and Amazon Echo devices are expected next month, and Spotify recommends Wi‑Fi or wired playback because Bluetooth lacks sufficient bandwidth and Lossless can consume about 1 GB per hour.
