Spotify Rolls Out In-App Playlist Imports With TuneMyMusic

The rollout targets would-be switchers by lowering migration friction to boost personalization from imported tracks.

Overview

  • The new Import your music option is appearing globally in the mobile app under Your Library as the feature rolls out now.
  • Transfers run through an in-app or browser TuneMyMusic flow that can pull playlists from Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud and more.
  • Playlists are copied into Spotify without deleting or changing them on the original service.
  • Using the integration through Spotify appears to bypass TuneMyMusic’s typical 500-track free-tier limit.
  • The tool currently supports one-way imports into Spotify, and the songs brought over will influence features like Release Radar and Daylist.
