Overview
- The rollout has begun in Germany and other early markets, with access expanding to more than 50 regions by October and users receiving in-app notifications when available.
- Lossless is included at no extra charge for Premium members and is not offered on the new basic tier.
- Spotify says nearly its entire catalog can stream in FLAC at up to 24-bit/44.1 kHz once users enable the option in Settings under media or audio quality.
- Activation is required per app or device, and quality can be set separately for Wi‑Fi, mobile data, and downloads.
- Phones, tablets, PCs, and select Spotify Connect devices from Sony, Bose, Samsung, and Sennheiser support lossless now, with Sonos and Amazon Echo expected to follow in October; Bluetooth does not support true lossless and data use can reach roughly 1 GB per hour.
