Overview

  • Spotify is notifying Premium subscribers across Europe, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific of upcoming monthly price increases, following a €1 uplift already applied for new users in Spain, Italy and Portugal.
  • In India, Premium has jumped from ₹119 to ₹139 per month, the Duo plan now costs ₹179 and the student plan is ₹69 monthly.
  • US Premium pricing remains unchanged despite this latest round of hikes.
  • In its July 29 earnings report, Spotify posted subscriber growth but its profit forecast missed analysts’ estimates, triggering an 11.5% stock decline and erasing about $16 billion in market value.
  • The company’s long-promised lossless Hi-Fi audio tier has been delayed repeatedly since its 2021 announcement and still has no launch date.
