Spotify Raises Premium Prices Again, Lifting U.S. Plan to $12.99 in February

The company says higher rates will fund product improvements, supporting artists as subscribers in the U.S., Estonia and Latvia see changes on February billing dates.

Overview

  • Individual, Duo, Family and Student tiers will rise to $12.99, $18.99, $21.99 and $6.99 per month, respectively.
  • Existing customers will be notified by email, with new prices applied on their next bill in February; new sign-ups see the higher rates immediately.
  • Spotify describes the move as an occasional pricing update to reflect the service’s value and to reinvest in the platform and creator payouts.
  • This is the third U.S. increase since 2023, following similar international hikes last year, and leaves Spotify costlier than Apple Music and YouTube Music’s $10.99 individual plans.
  • Reports indicated shares rose in premarket trading after the announcement, as investors assessed the revenue boost from higher subscription fees.
