Spotify Brings Managed Accounts for Kids to Seven New Markets

Premium Family subaccounts create a music-only space with parental controls and separate recommendations for young listeners.

Overview

  • The rollout covers the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, and the Netherlands following pilots in 10 earlier countries.
  • Parents can enable an Explicit Content Filter, block specific songs or artists, and hide video and Canvas within these accounts.
  • Each child’s profile generates its own recommendations and Spotify Wrapped so a parent’s listening history and algorithm stay unaffected.
  • Interactive features are restricted on managed accounts, with age-gated tools such as Messages not available.
  • The feature is exclusive to Premium Family; plan owners add a child by selecting Add a Member and choosing Add a listener aged under 13, with US pricing at $19.99 per month.
