Overview
- Deployment started September 10 in an initial group including the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Australia, Sweden, Netherlands, Portugal, Austria, Czechia, Denmark and New Zealand.
- Premium subscribers will get an in‑app alert when available and must enable Lossless per device in Settings under media or audio quality for Wi‑Fi, mobile data and downloads.
- Support is live on phones, tablets, computers and Spotify Connect devices from Sony, Bose, Samsung and Sennheiser, with Sonos and Amazon devices slated for October.
- Spotify says most of its catalog will offer Lossless, though some tracks remain compressed, and first plays may take a few extra seconds as larger files load.
- The company cautions that Lossless uses more data and that standard Bluetooth cannot pass uncompressed audio, so it recommends wired listening or Wi‑Fi via compatible speakers.
