Overview
- Spotify announced the Track Reactions feature Tuesday, June 16, 2026, and has begun a staged rollout in selected markets where the functionality is live for eligible users.
- Contributors tap a reactions button beside a song, choose from six preset emoji (❤️, 😂, 👍, 🎧, 🔥, 🥹), and the chosen emoji appears next to that track for other playlist participants to see.
- Reactions are private to the playlist: only the playlist owner and invited contributors can view or add reactions, and playlist owners can toggle the feature on or off.
- The company enables reactions by default on collaborative playlists with fewer than 10 editors, requires owners to enable them for larger groups, and will offer the feature to users aged 16+ on both Free and Premium plans.
- Spotify says Track Reactions is part of a broader push to boost social interaction on the app and could increase feedback and conversation about song choices while limiting noise by keeping reactions confined to collaborators.
