Sports Ministry Adds Emerging Medalists to TOPS and TAGG Lists

National schemes will provide monthly stipends alongside equipment backing for top prospects.

  • Gymnasts Pranati Nayak and Protishtha Samanta were added to the Target Asian Games Group after Nayak claimed bronze at the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships.
  • Athletes in the TOPS developmental group will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 25,000 as part of long-term support for India’s medal contenders.
  • Further support measures include Rs 11.9 lakh approved for archery equipment ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and a Chevening Scholarship awarded to SAI deputy director Sathishkumar S for a master’s in sports management at Loughborough University.
