Splitgate 2 Open Alpha Announced With New Modes and Massive Maps

The open alpha for the highly anticipated Splitgate 2 will run from February 27 to March 2, offering players a preview of expanded gameplay and features on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Splitgate 2 open alpha will be accessible to all players on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S without prior registration required.
The alpha will feature a new 8v8v8 multi-team mode on Glacier, a map 20 times larger than any in the original game, alongside two other maps: Bypass and Eden.
New game modes include Splitball, a mix of Capture the Flag and Halo's Oddball, and Firecracker, a respawn-enabled take on Search and Destroy.
Returning modes such as Team Deathmatch and Hotzone will see updates, while players can explore 24 weapons and nine pieces of equipment during the test.
The alpha content represents less than half of what will be included in the full game, which is set to release later in 2025.
