Spirit Clinch Eliminator Berth After Superchargers Oust Originals

Manchester Originals’ defeat to Northern Superchargers confirmed London Spirit’s place in Saturday’s Eliminator.

Overview

  • London Spirit’s eight-wicket win at the Kia Oval on August 25, built on a 106-run opening stand from Kira Chathli (53 off 29) and Georgia Redmayne (42 off 30), had put them in pole position.
  • Charlie Dean led the squeeze with 2-12 and a one-handed catch as Oval Invincibles were limited to 108-8 before Spirit romped home with 38 balls to spare.
  • Northern Superchargers then beat Manchester Originals by eight wickets on August 26, ending the Originals’ hopes and setting up a Spirit–Superchargers Eliminator at The Oval.
  • Southern Brave have already secured top spot in the women’s table and a place in Sunday’s final at Lord’s.
  • In the men’s competition, Oval Invincibles effectively sealed a finals berth with a six-wicket win over London Spirit, moving four points clear with a strong net run-rate.
