Spirit Christmas Expands to 30 Pop-Up Stores Across the Northeast and Great Lakes

The rollout tests Spirit Halloween’s pop-up formula for Christmas by pairing an immersive Peppermint Village with Santa photos operated by Cherry Hill Programs.

Overview

  • Spencer Gifts confirmed 30 temporary Spirit Christmas locations across 13 states with published addresses, including new sites near Pittsburgh and two former JoAnn stores in Manchester and Milford, Connecticut.
  • Most shops are slated to open in early November following Spirit Halloween closures, with a few transitioning in late October such as the Bohemia, Long Island site moving into a former JoAnn Fabrics space.
  • Stores will feature the Peppermint Village experience with interactive displays, exclusive holiday merchandise, décor, apparel, inflatables, gifts, and stocking stuffers.
  • Santa photo sessions begin November 21 at select locations with online reservations available through SpiritChristmas.com under a program run by Cherry Hill Programs.
  • The expansion builds on the company’s seasonal retail model supported by more than 1,500 Spirit Halloween pop-ups and landlord-friendly short-term leases that include kick-out clauses, according to Newsday’s reporting.
