  • Spirit Airlines will begin installing extra-legroom seats in June, offering 32 inches of space in over 40 seats per plane, with flights starting July 9, 2025.
  • The airline is retiring its 'Go Comfy' middle-seat-blocking option, replacing it with the new extra-legroom seating that includes perks like priority boarding and complimentary snacks.
  • Free Spirit loyalty program members and cobranded credit card holders will receive free boarding upgrades to premium seats starting in June, based on availability.
  • A new policy offering two free checked bags for Free Spirit Travel More Mastercard cardholders will launch later in 2025, in partnership with Bank of America.
  • Spirit is also introducing a points-earning debit card this fall, allowing travelers to redeem points for flights and other rewards.
