Spike Lee to Lead Jury at Red Sea Film Festival's Fourth Edition

The Oscar-winning filmmaker will oversee the competition jury for the Saudi Arabia-based festival, running December 5-14 in Jeddah.

Spike Lee has been named president of the jury for the Red Sea International Film Festival's fourth edition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The festival will feature 16 films in competition, highlighting works from the Arab region, Asia, and Africa, including world premieres and award-winning titles from other major festivals.
Lee, a celebrated director known for films like 'Malcolm X' and 'BlacKkKlansman,' previously attended the festival in 2022 and expressed enthusiasm for supporting emerging filmmakers.
The event will open with Karim Shenawy’s musical drama 'The Tale of Daye’s Family' and close with Michael Gracey’s Robbie Williams biopic 'Better Man.'
High-profile appearances and honors will include Viola Davis and Egyptian actress Mona Zaki, alongside Lee's participation in the festival's In Conversation series.
