Spice Girls Commemorated with Stamps by Britain's Royal Mail

In honor of their 30th anniversary, the iconic pop group becomes the first all-female band to be celebrated with a dedicated stamp collection.

  • The Spice Girls are being honored with a series of stamps by Britain's Royal Mail to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the group's formation.
  • The collection features 10 stamps depicting the Spice Girls in both individual and group performance shots, and a miniature sheet featuring the members with their stamps.
  • The Spice Girls stamps mark the first time Royal Mail has honored an all-female music group. Previous bands commemorated on British postage include the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Queen and most recently Iron Maiden.
  • The main set of stamps was taken between 1997 and 2012, including the Spice Girls performing at The BRIT Awards in 1997, their iconic closing ceremony set at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and various individual performances.
  • The new stamps are available now for pre-sale and will be available to the general public on January 11. Presentation packs, first-day covers and other collectibles associated with the stamp release will also be on sale.
