Sphere Entertainment Announces Immersive 'Wizard of Oz' and Extreme Sports Documentary

The Las Vegas venue will debut a reimagined version of the 1939 classic in August 2025 and release 'From the Edge,' featuring elite athletes, in 2026.

'The Wizard of Oz at Sphere' will premiere on August 28, 2025, as a fully immersive experience using a 16K resolution screen and multi-sensory effects.
Sphere Entertainment is collaborating with Warner Bros. Discovery, Google, and Magnopus to enhance the original film while preserving its integrity.
The creative team includes producer Jane Rosenthal, visual effects specialist Ben Grossmann, editor Jennifer Lame, and creative director Zack Winokur.
'From the Edge,' an extreme sports documentary directed by Oscar winners E. Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, will debut in 2026 and feature five elite athletes.
Sphere's proprietary Big Sky camera system is being used to film 'From the Edge' across global locations, showcasing the venue's technological innovation.
