Following registration of a zero FIR, the case was forwarded to railway police for further action

  • A 35-year-old woman alleges she was lured into an empty coach at Panipat railway station by a man posing as her husband’s envoy and gang-raped by three assailants.
  • The attackers then took her to Sonipat tracks and threw her onto the rails, causing her to lose a leg when a train ran over her.
  • Quilla police registered a zero FIR on July 7 and transferred it to the Panipat Government Railway Police for investigation.
  • A Special Investigation Team has been formed to collect forensic evidence, review CCTV footage and question local witnesses.
  • Investigators have not yet made any arrests and are reconstructing her movements following the June 24 domestic quarrel.
