Overview
- Three initiatives from Brandenburg, Bavaria and Saxony were honored: Omas gegen Rechts in Potsdam, Omas gegen Rechts in Bamberg and the Dresden project Musaik.
- The Potsdam group has been active since 2019 and helped launch the Netzwerk Brandenburg, with Brandenburg culture minister Manja Schüle delivering the tribute.
- In the Bamberg district, roughly 200 members have organized demonstrations and workshops since 2021 against racism, antisemitism and misogyny, with Bavaria’s SPD chair Ronja Endres recognizing their work.
- Musaik has provided free orchestral music education to children and adolescents in Dresden since 2016 with support from musicians of the Staatskapelle Dresden, and former Saxony SPD leader Martin Dulig gave the laudation.
- Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania premier Manuela Schwesig served as patron and head of the jury and commended the laureates.
